What skills actually make someone successful working remotely?
Making the switch from office to fully remote for the first time. What separates people who thrive remotely from people who struggle?

It's less about technical skill and more about self-management. The things that come up again and again: clear written communication (since so much happens async over Slack/email instead of in person), being proactive about status updates rather than waiting to be asked, genuinely reliable time management without someone watching over your shoulder, and being comfortable building trust with a manager you rarely see face-to-face. On the practical side, a dedicated workspace, a predictable daily routine, and being deliberate about logging off (remote work can blur into overwork just as easily as it blurs into distraction) all help a lot. It's a different skill set than "being good at your job" — plenty of strong in-office performers struggle with the autonomy at first.
